Turn-Off: V-Necks...On Men

urban-outfitters-deep-v-neck

The deep v-neck:

On women, it's intensely flattering, both elongating the neck and showcasing the boobage.

On men, it's just distracting...a douchebaggy version of an even douchebaggier look: the mostly undone, chest hair-sprouting button-down.

This image says it best:

Men: Don't be douchebags.

And while we're on the topic, chest hair is also a turn-off for me...at least when it's popping out of your shirt, giving others the impression that it's so full and luxuriant, your top just can't contain it. Please contain yourselves, men.

I know that some of you don't give a damn what I think. So be my guest:

As you guessed it, f-u. It is only hair. What, are we supposed to shave to get your approval?

Rob commented on Sep 01 09 at 9:46 pm

Heck, I don't necessarily hate chest hair (though women are certainly expected to shave -- their pubes, pits, and legs -- for men's approval). I just hate when it's thrust into my face Casanova-style.

my friend just got laser hair removal and i made so much fun of him. men should be proud of their chest hair (but not their back hair)! that being said, I love v-necks but hate deep v-necks.

I didn't know why I hated v-necks on men, and Steph just showed me why! It's douche-y. I support a classic style to flaunt your manliness, the v-neck is the men's version of a too short skirt: it's skanky. The hair is fine, mostly, but the need to bare all that skin and hair is not. Save the rainforest for when we get in bed.

I wholeheartedly agree on the douchebag neck. Those are terrible. And Steph, you have every right to dislike the protruding chest hair, it's awful. Rob you dont have to shave, but we also don't have to like it.

I have a very nice bed of chest hair and my girlfriend finds it an incredible turn-on, thank you. And, no, I don't wear V-necks or willfully expose my chest hair to the world. You shouldn't have to look at it much the same way that I don't want to see your nasty bikini stub when I'm at the beach.

I would never shave my chest hair. However, I don't ask women to shave their body hair. Smooth or bushy, I'm happy either way.

I like regular v-necks, but wouldn't wear these ones.

Deep V is kinda pussy looking, I admit.
Regardless, this post was weak sauce from a metrosexual-loving illiterate.
Men, let your chest hair breathe. FREE THE BEAST UNITED.

Deep V + chest hair = Joey
Deep V - chest hair = fag
JUST DON'T.

my boyfriend wears v-neck shirt, I still don't know what to think about them.

my girlfriend won't contribute, but she categorically agrees, and i'm passing that on.

A V-neck T-shirt belongs underneath a dress shirt and tie - a V-neck sweater can be very useful however....

What's wrong with them? Personally think men shouldn't get the douchbag one, and I think skinny men look better in v necks...
