Here’s a cheerful Sally Hawkins in the film Happy Go Lucky. I saw it recently and found myself simultaneously amazed and annoyed that one person (a fictional person, but still) could be so happy all the freakin’ time. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that just maybe optimism is infectious, and I don’t mean in the swine flu way.

Thus, I resolved to be more optimistic. Enter 1,000 Awesome Things, the perfect site for my new glass-half-fullness:
