For a long time, sensitive, awkward dudes in the mainstream media have usually been relegated to the void of second-string, cliche characters. There were attempts made at bringing these guys to light , but were stomped out prematurely (”Freaks & Geeks”, “Undeclared”).

Fast forward a few years to a time when Judd Apatow reigns supreme and the antics of two well-meaning, hapless New Zealanders fill our hearts with uncomfortable moments, music, and laughter.

Flight of the Conchords came on the scene and helped show America that not every guy is the King of Queens or in an Entourage, that there are dudes who are total dorks, but also endearing. So thank you, Bret and Jemaine, for opening the minds of masses to the concept of a different type of guy. Y’know things are going to be alright for us when you hear people saying that they want to get freaky with Jemaine.
