Roni River is a up-and-coming photographer living in Israel, but she’s unlike any photographer we’ve come across. River only photographs herself, saying she’s too shy to have anyone else pose for her. Oddly enough, this hasn’t stopped her from undertaking a year-long project of photographing herself, often in the nude…
Her Flickr page is resplendent with lush and surprising work, and the photographers and casual observers who come across often fall in love with her and her photos at first sight. As one commenter notes: “There’s a lot of people (including myself) that would probably run of ideas by Day 4. For you to be consistently good, for this long, speaks wonders.”
Here’s a set of our favorites from the first 290 days of the experiment:

She says:
“Im not very happy with this picture..
Not because of me i actually like my body in this picture and thats why i wanted to pose like this because im feeling ok with my body latelly… but this was much harder to do than i thought.
to arch my back and my but and bend forward to have the curve in my tummy.. and to hide my face with my hair.. and to make sure im hiding my ear as well..
it was tough and i didnt get the picture i wanted with all the elements in place”
maybe ill try this shoot again some time.

Of course, not all her self-portraits are nude, but those stand out because of how clearly it comes across that she’s attempting to beak free of self-doubt and reservations about her art. Plus, taking photos of yourself in the nude and posting them on the internet over and over again? Thank to takes guts. Bravo.

Captivating. She is, I mean. As are her photos. I sort of want to make love to her.
you can’t criticize other websites for typos if you make them yourself
Shmofia, you commented on the wrong post. I didn’t say anything about typos. Try this one:
