Carey Mulligan, the 24-year-old girlfriend of Shia LaBeouf, has a shot at stardom… and a Best Actress Oscar… but who is she?
This video really made our Monday– “What does a stranger look like?” from our friends at the Found Footage Film Festival. The kid who says “I know” with that look on his face is so damn cool he could’ve been a major movie star.
Eliza Dushku is apparently recovering from Dollhouse’s cancellation by shacking up with retired Celtics player Rick Fox, who took her to a Lakers game.
Google might become your phone company soon– and it sounds damned promising.
Ashley Greene is apparently Miss December at Maxim– she’s the cover girl this month, just as she was last year.
MySpace, which apparently has to pay record labels to stream music, is thinking of charging people who listen to music on the site. This would obviously be in keeping with Rupert Murdoch’s current crusade to charge money for everything on the internet.
And teacher Sandy Binkley, much celebrated on the internet for being relatively attractive and having locker room sex with a 17-year-old boy, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for statutory rape. No matter what you think of these teachers taking advantage of students, the 17-year-old victim said the sex was consensual and, really, he was only a few months shy of being legal anyway, so this sentence seems far too harsh for our stomachs.

Does that mean he wasn’t even her student? With that, and the consideration that 17 is actually over the age of consent in a lot of states really makes the 12-year sentence seem super-harsh.
Yeah, she did something wrong and probably should lose her job, but there’s a lot of difference between a near-18-year-old and, say, a 13-year-old student, let alone the “7 to 17″ range mentioned in the article. Gah.
The judge must have been jealous because nothing like this ever happened to him when he was 17 (not a shock when your name is “Dee Gay”). But seriously, how long would you continue paying a lawyer who says things like: “It ain’t over, baby,” [Binkley's lawyer] said to [the prosecutor] as they exited the courtroom. “It’s just starting.”
That Carey Mulligan girl is tearing up the newspapers in the UK. Probably every day or every second day I read a dazzled article about how breathtaking she is. wtf?
Also, yes, way way way way too harsh. Awful to hear.
“Dee Gay”
I could make a joke about his brothers, Dis Gay, Dat Gay, Dem Gay and Doze Gay. But I won’t do that. No. Not me.
i think this sentence should not have happend at all.
the sex was consential and both parties were over the age of 16 so it was legaly “not rape.”
the courts decition should be revoked as there is no grounds for prosicution.
